When you grow up in the church you see All these amazing things that God does through the people around you and you get stuck many times wondering, 'When is God gonna use me?' I lived this reality for years, always worried that I wasn't good at things. I couldn't play an instrument, I couldn't sing and I felt as though I couldn't do anything to really affect the worship or the experience of worship for others during a service.
Then God opened my eyes to John 4:21:
"Jesus declared, 'Believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.'"
This simple verse wrecked my whole view on worship. My worship wasn't found in my ability. My worship isn't found in the church I'm worshiping in. No, my worship is found in my heart! And every breath is an extension of my worship.
I'm given the honor of attending GT Worship songwriters retreats. When I go on these trips I have one job: serve. I don't write the songs, I don't help with arrangements. I clean, I cook, I care for every need that arises. That is my worship because the greatest honor God can give me is the ability to serve his servants and that is my worship!
